Car Park Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. They relate to your use of our car park.

  1. Liability

Vehicles and their contents are left in the car park at the owner’s risk. Gardiner Haskins Interiors is not liable for any loss of, or damage to, vehicles or items left inside them.

  2. Security of your vehicle

Before leaving the car park, please ensure that:

    (a) Your vehicle is securely locked.

    (b) All windows of your vehicle are securely closed.

    (c) Any alarm, steering lock or similar security device is activated.

  3. Possessions

    (a) Wherever possible, take your possessions with you when leaving your vehicle.

    (b) If you leave possessions in your vehicle, you do so at your own risk. Keep them out of sight, preferably locked in the boot or another secure storage area.

    (c) Your motor insurance may not cover possessions left in your vehicle. We recommend arranging separate cover where appropriate.

  4. Courtesy to other customers

If you damage another customer’s vehicle, please report it to us and provide both vehicle registration numbers. You must also leave a note on the other vehicle’s windscreen with your vehicle details, contact information and relevant incident details.

  5. Safety in the car park

    (a) Please drive carefully and follow all signs and directions.

    (b) Car parks can be hazardous. After parking, please supervise children and pets and keep them under control at all times.

    (c) Keep your speed low while driving in the car park.

  6. Parking

    (a) The car park uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), with barcode tickets available if your number plate cannot be read.

    (b) On entering the car park, please park in any available space. There are no reserved bays.

    (c) If you need assistance, speak to staff in the car park office. If the office is closed, use the help button on any pay station or entry/exit barrier to contact the call centre.

  7. Payment

    (a) Payment for parking is made when you are ready to leave the car park.

    (b) You can pay at the exit barriers or at one of the three pay stations in the car park.

    (c) We accept all major credit and debit cards, except Amex. For cash payments, please use the pay station in the lower section of the car park.

    (d) After paying, you must leave the car park within 10 minutes or further charges will apply.

  8. Contract Parking

    (a) Any default on payment in respect of contract parking will result in the vehicle registration number being cancelled and the normal daily rate charged.

    (b) Up to three licence plate numbers may be linked to each contract space. The first registered vehicle to enter on a given date will be treated as the contract parker; any others will be charged the daily rate.

    (c) Please notify staff of any vehicle registration changes as soon as possible, as this may affect your contract parking.

    (d) If your registration number cannot be read, you will be issued with a pass card. A £10 deposit is required and will be refunded when the pass card is returned in good working order.

    (e) Lost or damaged pass cards can be replaced for a £10 charge.

    (f) Please report any pass card issues to car park staff so they can be resolved promptly.

  9. Refunds

    (a) Once a contract parking agreement has started, refunds are available for full months only. Partial months and weekly contracts are not refundable.

  10. Opening & Closing Times

The car park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  11. Height Restriction

    (a) A 2-metre height restriction applies from 6pm to 7am Monday to Friday, and at weekends and on bank holidays. If you need to enter or exit during these times, use the help button at a pay machine to contact the call centre for assistance.

  12. Parking Contraventions

To help us manage the car park effectively, please ensure:

    (a) You only use designated bays if you are entitled to do so, for example by displaying a valid disability badge in a disabled bay.

    (b) You park within a marked bay.

    (c) You follow all signs and directional arrows in the car park.

    (d) If you, your vehicle or your passengers damage car park equipment or structures, we may recover the repair and administration costs from you, unless the damage was caused by our negligence.

  13. Access & Re-location of Vehicles

    (a) We reserve the right to refuse entry to any vehicle and may remove or move any vehicle within the car park using any reasonable method.

    (b) We may move vehicles within the car park, by driving or other means, where reasonably necessary for safety, to prevent obstruction or to manage parking facilities efficiently, even if damage results.

  14. Tariff

Parking fees, as amended from time to time, are displayed on the tariff board at the entrance and pay stations. You must pay the applicable fee and follow any instructions shown.

  15. Payment and Disposal of Abandoned Vehicles

    (a) If you intend to leave your vehicle in the car park for more than one month, please notify staff in the car park office.

    (b) We may sell any vehicle we reasonably believe has been abandoned. A vehicle may be treated as abandoned if it has remained in the car park for more than three months without prior notification and is not covered by a valid season ticket.

    (c) Before disposing of an abandoned vehicle, we will:

    (i) Make reasonable enquiries with the appropriate police authority.

(ii) Give 14 days' notice by attaching a notice to the vehicle, stating the date on which it will be removed and disposed of.

    (d) Where practicable, abandoned vehicles will be sold at auction. Sale proceeds will be used to settle any sums owed to us, including sale expenses and reasonable garage charges for the period the vehicle was in our possession.

    (e) Any remaining balance will be held for the registered owner and paid once entitlement is proven.

  16. Prohibited Activities

    (a) You must not tow vehicles into the car park except as part of services authorised by us. You or your agent must not work on or clean vehicles in the car park without our prior permission. If your vehicle breaks down, contact the attendant so removal or repair can be arranged without disruption, damage or danger to others or property.

    (b) You must not sell, hire or otherwise dispose of vehicles, goods or services in the car park without our prior written permission.

    (c) Fly posting on vehicles in the car park is not permitted without prior permission.

    (d) Fly tipping and disposal of personal litter in the car park are not permitted. Gardiners will seek to identify those responsible and recover cleaning costs where appropriate.
